How It Works?

What Is An E-Cig And How Does It Work?

An e-cig or electronic cigarette is known by several other names including:

• Electronic vaping device
• Electronic nicotine delivery system
• Personal vaporizer

Although it is known by many different names, it was manufactured with one goal in mind. This goal is to help smokers reduce the amount of regular cigarettes they smoke, or to stop smoking completely. The technology has helped to make smoke free cigarettes a reality while the user can still enjoy a pleasant smoking experience.

An e-cig will also allow users to save money and the cigarettes do not produce the annoying second hand smoke that has caused regular cigarettes to be banned from many public places. The e-cig delivers rich flavor and an excellent smoking sensation even though fire is not used to light the electronic cigarette.

The Way An E-Cig Works

It is a complex system consisting of an atomizer, airflow sensor, control circuit and led indicator. All of these parts work in unison to control the amount of e-liquid that is released into vapor each time the user inhales. The system is in place to help deliver the vapor consistently and to help prevent any of the e-liquid from leaking out of the electronic cigarette.

E-cigs are available in 2 piece styles and 3 piece styles. It does not matter the style that is chosen, both have the same parts. These parts are the atomizer, cartridge and battery.

The atomizer heats to the cartridge to a precise temperature. Once the cartridge has been adequately heated, it turns the liquid into vapor and the vapor is then ready to be inhaled. The longevity of the atomizer will be dependent on how often the e-cig is used and how well it is maintained. An atomizer that is well taken care of can last a year.

The cartridge contains the e-liquid or liquid nicotine. This liquid is made from several chemicals including liquid nicotine, propylene glycol and flavor additives. E-cig cartridges are available in different strengths, and this allows users to control the amount of nicotine they inhale.

Cartridges are classified as high, medium and low strength. A high cartridge can contain as much as 16mg of nicotine while a low cartridge may only contain 6mg of nicotine. Nicotine free cartridges are also available for those who want to enjoy the e-cig without inhaling nicotine.

The battery is the final component that is found in electronic cigarettes, and it responsible for keeping the electronic components of the e-cig charged.

Manual And Automatic Batteries

E-cigs are available with either an automatic battery or a manual battery. An automatic battery contains sensors that detect when a user is pulling or drawing on the cigarette. The battery will then activate and charge the atomizer. The atomizer will automatically shut down after a period of time (about 15 seconds).

A manual battery includes a switch that will turn the atomizer on and it will stay on as long as the switch is on. These batteries are best for smokers who want to control the amount of vapor they receive during each draw. The battery can last for up to 6 hours before it needs to be recharged.

An e-cig is an alternative to traditional cigarettes and a great tool that can be used for nicotine replacement therapy. The electronic cigarette allows smokers to control how and when they decide to stop smoking permanently.
