Adult competition for ages 17+

Competition open to anyone living, working or attending a writing group in the Alton area.

Entrants will be required to write a short story, opening chapter of a novel, or non-fiction piece in no more than 2000 words on the theme of this year’s competition.

Entries must be received by 1pm on Monday 26th September at Alton Community Centre, Amery Street, Alton. GU34 1HN.

1st Prize: £25 Book Token
2nd prize:£15 Book Token
3rd prize: £10 Book Token
 There will also be a certificate for entries that are highly commended.

To download the entry form, click on the button below or pick up a printed copy at Alton Community Centre. The prize-giving will be at the Literary Lunch on Sunday 2nd October. A visit to a publishing house will be arranged for the winners.The Adult’s writing competition is sponsored by the Alton Herald.
